PMS and Alexa: Benefits and Features!

Thanks to the integration between your PMS and Alexa, automation, efficiency, and personalized services enhance the guest experience and simplify staff operations.

Benefits

Integrating your PMS with Alexa Smart Properties allows you to automatically activate features that provide added value for both guests and staff.

Language Settings

At check-in, the PMS provides the guest’s spoken language or country of origin, and the Echo device automatically sets itself to the correct language (from the 5 available: Italian, English, French, German, and Spanish).

Messages and Requests

Personalized Messages

If the PMS provides guest data (e.g., name), a personalized automatic message can be sent to the Echo Show, which the guest will see upon entering their room.

Automated Messages

Knowing the guest’s check-in and check-out dates, the system can schedule automated messages to be sent to the Echo Show to suggest services or promote special offers.

Request Forwarding

Guest requests for services or bookings can be forwarded to the PMS (if supported), allowing the reception to handle them either during the stay or at checkout.

Housekeeping

Based on check-in and check-out dates and custom rules defined by the housekeeping staff, Alexa can manage guest requests for additional cleaning, or alternatively, to skip daily cleaning.

Staff Services

Rooms to Clean

If supported by the PMS, cleaning staff can ask Alexa which rooms need to be cleaned on a given floor. The team is automatically updated with the list of pending rooms.

Room Cleaned

After daily cleaning, staff can say, “Alexa, the room is clean” (Alexa will ask for a security password), automatically updating the room status in the PMS for real-time tracking.

Room Ready

At the end of a stay, the housekeeping manager can say, “Alexa, the room is ready” (again, with a security password), updating the PMS automatically. This avoids phone calls and miscommunication between the reception and housekeeping staff, speeding up room reassignment to new guests.

Device Management and Privacy

Device Reset

The PMS can confirm to NAVOO systems that the guest has checked out, and the Echo devices can be reset automatically, removing alarms and unread messages.
Note: If the PMS cannot be connected, the reset can still be done manually or through alternative methods.

Privacy

NAVOO systems will only retrieve the data you choose to share from the PMS, and will never store personal guest information or stay-related data (such as room rates).
